I took this photograph, on an assignment for a magazine. I thought this was the best one of the lot, but they didn't pick it -- perhaps because they were after the food shots :)

A few months, after I posted it here, Manshark, who is a very readable blogger, who also meta-bloggs on Kottu, wrote a carefully detailed and very sensitive reading of this photograph.

I really liked it.

It was a do nothing Sunday afternoon, so I started shooting into my living room, from the little bancony, which is at G+5, as the developer says. that means its open to the sky, pretty much; and the light was strong, as it always is, but somehow, after i had got almost half on my back, camara held like a weapon, i got this, which i liked.

its also a new canon eos 300d, which is a dslr. oh my oh my.

three shades of green someone said, and i agree: one bright and far away, one old and slightly worn, and the other a shadow. i like the dark frames on the top and bottom edges towards the right, and alomost matching long dark vertical shadow, between the greens.
